Last week, Amazon held their much buzzed about event launching several new Kindle Fire tablets dubbed HD this time around, and even introduced a new Kindle with better battery life and a lit up screen.
While the 8.9 inch Kindle Fire HD won’t be out until November 20th, the 16GB version of the 7-inch Kindle Fire HD is available starting today at just $199. The price is on par with Google’s Nexus 7 and this tablet is expected to be a very hot seller for the company. Unfortunately, if you want the 32GB version which comes in at $249, you’ll have to wait until October 25th.
I’m sure if Amazon could get that and the 8.9 inch version out much quicker, they would. Anyways, here’s a quick look at the specs:
- 7 inch 1280×800 display (216 ppi)
- 1.2GHz dual-core TI OMAP4460 processor
- 1GB RAM
- 16GB internal storage
- Front-facing camera
- Dolby surround sound audio
- Dual-band, dual-antenna WiFi
- Up to 11 hours of battery life
If you’re an Amazon customer and buy a lot of books and/or watch a good amount of movies or shows through a Prime account, the 7 inch Kindle Fire HD looks like a pretty good buy if you’re in the market for a new tablet.
