About three months after Jelly Bean hit the unlocked Galaxy Nexus, users on Verizon with the Galaxy Nexus can now get the update to Android 4.1.1 – Jelly Bean. We’ve said this before, but CDMA carriers like Verizon and Sprint like to test updates like crazy before they get released. Today looks like we will be getting Jelly Bean on the last of the Nexus devices out there.
The build is JRO03O with Android 4.1.1, it also weighs in at about 146MB. You’ll need to connect to Wifi to download the update before October 1st. Now owners of the Verizon Galaxy Nexus get to experience new features like Google Now, and the enhanced notifications that come in Jelly Bean.
Didn’t get the update yet? Here’s how you can pull it down:
1. From your phone, head into Settings>Apps>All.
2. Search for Google Services Framework.
3. Once found, tap on it and choose “Force stop.”
4. Then choose “Clear data.”
5. Back out of Apps to your About page in Settings and check for the System update.
If you’ve gotten the update, let us know below how it’s working out for you. How’s Google Now?
