Featured: Leaked Photo of The Upcoming Pantech Magnus for AT&T

AT&T has built a steady relationship with Pantech, that has been supplying them with a series of budget-friendly low-end phones although what we have today (courtesy of Engadget) is not-so-low-end after all. Folks over at Engadget have managed to get their hands on the first leaked photo of the upcoming AT&T Pantech Magnus (P9090). The rumored specs are pretty similar to their flagship Pantech Vega Racer 2 that’s available in Korea but when it comes to design and style both phones have noticeable differences.

The Vega Racer 2 has a design similar to Samsung Galaxy S2 while the Pantech Magnus resembles the Galaxy Nexus in design. The Magnus also sports a back similar to HTC phones. Keeping in mind the specs of the Vega Racer 2, we can assume that the Magnus will possess somewhat same internals including a 1.5GHz Dual-Core S4 chip with LTE connectivity, 8MP rear shooter, front facing camera, 4.8″ 720p display, 16GB of RAM and at least Android 4.0, if not Jelly Bean. We noticed the on-screen buttons too.

There are still no words on the availability or the pricing of the device by either AT&T or Pantech yet but we are certain that there will be an official announcement soon. This phone will take Pantech from a low-end phone manufacturer to a Mediocre level, at least. They have already claimed to tackle both Apple and Samsung in the past. Let’s just hope the Magnus hits it off for the sake of the prosperity of this little (ambitious) company.
