According to a rumor which originated at Howard Forums, it looks like antenna problems with the new Razr HD devices have caused Verizon and Motorola to delay both the Droid Razr HD and Droid Razr Maxx HD. The report says that the antenna design of both devices puts it in contact with the edge of the device, creating something owners of the iPhone 4 know all to well. Even though we are Android fans, we do know about the death grip with the iPhone 4, in fact it was pretty funny “you’re holding it wrong”.
Now the problem seems to be a hardware issue, which cannot be fixed with a software patch. So the delay could become very lengthy. We’ve seen rumors pointing to a late-October launch, but if these rumors of the antenna are true we may not see these devices until after Thanksgiving or even later.
Whatever the case may be, at least Motorola is fixing it. If this were the old Motorola they may have just said “forget it” and ship them to Verizon stores for sale anyways. Any of our readers waiting for the Droid Razr HD or the Droid Razr Maxx HD to be available?
