Featured: Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2 Camera Samples Leaked

We have previously reported that HTC is also working on a Nexus phone. They’ve already manufactured the first nexus, The Nexus One. So, there’s a possibility for another nexus phone by the Taiwanese giant. There are reports coming in that this time Google will launch multiple Nexus devices from different OEMs and each device will come with different specs and sizes to make things easier for people who want a Nexus device in their preferred size and mainly from their favorite manufacturers.

Now, we have serious rumors that Samsung is actually working on the Galaxy Nexus 2 a..k.a GT-i9260. Well, the recent leaked images claim to be the camera samples of the Nexus 2.

The camera samples were first leaked on Picasa and picked up by GSMArena. The EXIF data shows that the camera belongs to a Samsung device GT-i9260. GT-i9250 is the model number for Galaxy Nexus, so the i9260 is definitely going to be the Galaxy Nexus 2. The images have been taken in Gurgaon, India, that’s the home for Samsung’s photographics equipment adding some weight to the rumor.

Rumor mill suggests that the Nexus 2 will come with an 8 Megapixel camera as shown in the EXIF data, a microSD card slot, 4.65″ 720p display and a Snapdragon S4 processor. Although, traditionally all Nexus devices are launched with the latest iteration of Android OS, so maybe Key Lime Pie is not that far after all. OTher reports suggest that the Nexus 2 will launch with Android 4.1.2, an update to the current 4.1.1 that will feature more butter and possibly new features as well.

What do you think about the Galaxy Nexus 2? Would you prefer another Samsung-made Nexus device over other manufacturers?
