The rumor mill is something that you just cannot escape from, no matter how hard you try – you’ll hear a rumor from somewhere sooner or later. You could say that there’s a sort of window that the rumor mill respects before it starts to talk of a device’s successor however, the mill waits for no man and certainly not any device. To that end, here starts the rumors for the Galaxy SIV. That’s right, there are rumors surround the successor to a phone that has only been on the market for a few months – it’s just the game we’re in I suppose.
For those of you out there that own the Galaxy SIII you’re more than likely pretty happy with it and I’m sure there are some of you out there that are happy to own the fastest and most powerful currently on the market. However, this isn’t something a phone can hold to forever and I’m sure Samsung will be looking to future as well, they probably have been ever since the phone saw release. Now, rumors are coming out of South Korea itself that Samsung are looking to unveil the Galaxy SIV in February next year.
Of course, that doesn’t sound too unbelievable – even at this early stage – but the fact that it’s being reported that Samsung are to do it onstage at MWC is a little far-fetched. The company purposely stayed away from MWC this time around and whether that was because the phone wasn’t ready yet we don’t know but – Samsung certainly had a lot talk about at their own little event. I can’t see Samsung clamoring for press attention with everyone else when they’re perfectly capable of doing it themselves.
On to the phone itself – it’s said to be packing a quad-core Exynos with LTE which is surely going to be a bonus for Samsung as I’m fairly certain they don’t like relying on Qualcomm’s silicon in the States. The screen is said to receive another screen bump to 5″ or so and there’s talk of an OLED display in there – with no word on a flexible display due to production problems. Design is said to be a rectangle affair with rounded edges.
