Youtube. Maybe you subscribe to Epic Meal Time and realize you’ve made a horrible mistake every time you watch one of their videos, or maybe you like taking an adventure through related videos until you end up in the weird part of Youtube. Either way, if you use the Internet, chances are you also watch videos on the biggest video site on the planet.
If you enjoy taking video watching to your mobile phone or tablet, you’ll be glad to know that the app received an update today and although it doesn’t bring too many changes, it does feature a sleeker UI as well as some features that those running (gasp!) Froyo or Gingerbread will enjoy.
A few of those features are a new watch experience, the ability to add videos to your Youtube TV queue, and more channels to choose from in the channel store. However, the biggest feature, again, if you run an older version of Android, is video pre-loading. What is video pre-loading exactly? Basically, it temporarily stores video data on your device and allows you to watch a video without any interruptions or the dreaded buffering.
Android 4.0 and above users have had this since last summer, but it’s nice that Google doesn’t forget those who haven’t upgraded to a new device just yet. The update looks to be pretty solid and the UI is especially easy on the eyes.
