Featured: A More Waterproof Xperia Tablet S to Resume Sales Mid-November

Sony Japan is intent on bringing the Xperia Tablet S back to market in mid-November after fixing some manufacturing issues discovered a few weeks back. The not-so-“waterproof” chassis on the 9.4-inch tablet was allowing moisture through on some units. The chassis, which was meant to hold out liquids in the result of accidental spills, had a small gap between the display panel and the back of the product.

If you already purchased one of the 100,000 units that went out before the problem was discovered, Sony is offering to make things right. Inspections and free repair services will be available in most markets, so you’ll want to contact a Sony representative or store before letting your tablet go all Titanic on you.

Overall, Sony does not expect this issue to affect their earnings for the tablet.
