As you may or may not know, Sony acquired Gaikai (the cloud gaming company that wants to bring you high quality gaming without downloads installs or discs) some time ago in the summer for some 380 million and change. That’s quite the take for the service all of us have yet to even see. Never the less, you can imagine most people’s excitement to learn of this information as Sony is a Major Player in the console gaming world and there are a lot of great quality titles on its platform. The company has been working with Sony on a website to tease some of the game giants most popular titles coming to the Gaikai service. Metal Gear Solid on my tablet without an emulator? Yes please. I can only hope. Although, I don’t have a Sony tablet… so I’m not holding my breath on anything cool here for me.
As time goes on, Sony it seems is definitely interested in making loads more android devices certified to play playstation games, which is good news for those of us that haven’t ever nor will probably ever own a Sony android phone or tablet. Currently Sony has a long list of Sony Android phones and tablets that are playstation certified, as well a handful of HTC devices including the One S. Why not the Asus products!?!? Anyway, I digress. Most of the games pictured on Gaikais site seem to be current games or games coming soon and that is something to get excited about for sure. I’m hoping to see some of these games available for play by the majority of the Android gaming community including myself. Time will tell as Sony and Gaikai are hard at work getting the service up and running. It seems from the photos that games like Mass Effect 3, killzone2 and 3 , Little Big Planet, Modern Warfare, God of War and others are all teased on the site. What do you guys think? Does this get some of you jumping for joy? Or are you going to be like me and reserve all emotion and judgment until things are more clear?
