Featured: Galaxy S IIIs Across Western Europe Treated to Jelly Beans

For a long time now we’ve been hearing of Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, for Samsung’s Galaxy S III. We’ve seen leaks, ROMs have been built from the leaks for a while now and the update has even started rolling out in some of Sammy’s lesser markets. Now however, there’s word that the update is rolling out across Western Europe – such as France, Spain, Romania and Austria – which are bigger markets for Samsung. Hopefully, this means that Samsung have ironed out any final flaws that might be present in the update and it’s ready to make its way to the prime time.

As for the firmware build, it’s the same one that rolled out in Eastern Europe earlier in the year: I9300XXDLIH. The Jelly Bean update to the Galaxy S III will bring with it all that Jelly Bean has brought to Android such as Project Butter, Google Now and expanded notifications. However, Samsung have seen fit to add a little more to TouchWiz as well, there’s some additions to homescreen management as well as a “Dormant” mode which is like an advanced silent mode. Which will allow you to turn on call-blocking and stop certain notifications from coming through – perfect if you’re a light sleeper.

You can get the firmwares over at SamMobile – as always – and if you swing by XDA I’m sure they’ll be some ROMs already built on it and instructions on how to get your hands on the official update.

If you happen to live in France, Spain or anywhere that has the official update let us know how it went!
