Well we were afraid of this one. We knew that Hurricane Sandy was on it’s way, but were hoping it wouldn’t mess with the big Google event on Monday. We were all excited to finally see the new Nexus devices, and see what Google had put into the next version of Android. Well looks like we’ll have to wait a bit longer. Google has officially cancelled the event for Monday. So far there’s no word as to when it’ll be rescheduled.
Last year, Google’s fall event was delayed as well. But they stated the reason was due to Apple’s former CEO, Steve Jobs passing. And the event was moved to Hong Kong. Which means most of us in the US missed the event, which was streamed on YouTube showing us Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
And here’s a copy of the email Google sent to Android Police about the cancellation:
So we’ll have to wait longer to see what the Nexus 10 really looks like, what the final version of the LG Nexus 4 looks like and prices on these devices. Not to mention Android 4.2. But it would be awesome to announce the LG Nexus 4 in the middle of a hurricane right?
