Although no formal announcements have been made by either Samsung or any U.S. carrier regarding plans to release the device, the fact that the company conducted trials with the US government agency shows that there is some interest in eventually offering the Android device in the states.

The device features a 4-inch Super AMOLED, 800×400 resolution, 5MP rear camera, VGA front camera, NFC, 1GHz NovaThor processor, 8GB or 16GB storage capacity, and ships with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The phone itself looks visually identical to its bigger sibling, just slightly smaller. The lack of LTE has relegated it to minor interest from US carriers, though it may find a home among entry-level users or as a budget Android device.
