The Nexus 10 as well its smaller sibling, the Nexus 4, launch today and are sure to be a fast seller, already besting expectations in the UK. With a full HD display and rock solid specs, it’s a great buy for anyone looking to grab a 10 inch Android tablet and further making it difficult for other manufacturers to break through.
With that said, Ainol who we talked about last week, have another new 10 inch tablet with specs to better compete with the Nexus 10. At just $213, it’s sounding pretty impressive. Dubbed the Novo 10 Captain, it’s not out just yet, but here’s a quick rundown of the specs:
- 10.1-inch IPS display at 1920 x 1080
- 1.5Ghz ATM7029 quad-core processor
- Mali 400 GPU
- 1GB RAM
- 8 or 16GB internal storage with microSD card support
- 2 megapixel rear-facing camera
- VGA front-facing camera
- HDMI, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
- 10,000 mAh battery
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
As you can see, the specs aren’t anything to laugh at. While some users will want more storage, the fact that you can just buy a 32GB microSD card and still pay less than for the Nexus 10, could definitely be a big incentive.
If you want the 16GB version, that’ll run you a bit more at $259.99. Even though the Novo 10 Captain has a 10,000 mAh battery, without any actual testing or reviews, it’s pretty much unknown how well it performs. And that’s the whole thing with this tablet.
The price is amazing and the specs are impressive. However, when you’re buying from a relatively unknown Chinese manufacturer, there’s always the real possibility of shoddy build quality. That’s just the name of the game, but if you want to keep an eye on it, you can do that by bookmarking Ainol’s site or checking out DealsPrime which has the Novo 10 Captain on pre-order.
