AT&T HTC One VX to Arrive In December After Missed Launch

In the beginning of October the HTC One VX was announced along with the One X+ to be coming to the AT&T network. Once November came, it was stated that the phones would be available for purchase on November 16th. However, only one of those devices made it to the lineup, which was the HTC One X+. There was no news about the One VX that surfaced. AT&T remained silent about the device, which aroused several suspicions and rumors. Recently a spokesperson for AT&T has come forward to answer the questions regarding the HTC One VX.

The source revealed that the awaited device would be available online and in stores on December 7th. Even though it’s great that the device finally has a date, there are still people wondering exactly what happened, and why the device was kept out of the light it should have been in on November 16th.

It also arose some questions and speculations among critics if this was a “strategic move, to feature the carrier’s other models more prominently for the start of the holiday shopping seasoning?” It’s definitely a possibility considering Christmas is right around the corner.

The HTC One VX is a mid-range device that will consist of the following:

  • 4.5″ qHD display
  • 1.5 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor
  • Android 4.0
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5 MP Camera
  • 8GB of Internal Storage; Holds up to 32GB via Micro SD card Slot
  • 1800 mAh battery

A pretty decent phone for the specs, and the design of the device is sleek and beautiful. HTC has never really been a fail in the area of design, when it comes to their devices. It has a metal trim, with a “matte silver/white finish,” and fits beautifully in your pocket. However, it is only shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich, which is a bummer seeing as Jellybean 4.2.1 is out already.

Yet, why it was delayed in the first place is still on people’s mind. Do you think it’s possible the device had some type of hardware or software malfunction that they decided to delay it without any real reasoning? With questions still unanswered I always look forward to a HTC release. Even though I may not jump at their devices, I still do enjoy the design and displays HTC provide. Let us hope that delaying HTC One VX launch will not further hurt the company and provide many with a really great Christmas idea!
