In one corner we have a 10″ tablet with a super high resolution display and in the other corner we have a 10″ tablet with a not so high resolution display and a whole lot of tricks up its sleeve. There’s a lot to be impressed with in both devices but which one will come out on top? Read on to find out whether the Nexus 10 is the one to beat or the Note 10.1 champion of the 10″ tablets!

While the Nexus 7 might be an extraordinary 7″ tablet, the Nexus 10 is an extraordinary tablet outright. With a stunning 2560 x 1600 resolution and a design that it certainly something unique this is everything that a lot of people have been waiting for in a tablet this size. There’s an understated and clean design on offer here and with that display, pictures and movies are really going to pop. There’s no denying that the Nexus 10 is a powerful device either, it might only have a dual-core vs the quad-core found in the Note 10.1 but, it’s a powerful dual-core built on top of ARM’s next generation Cortex A15, making it punch well above its weight. The Android experience on offer is clean, stock and pure. There’s no UI on top of anything here and it’s all Google all the time, if you’re heavily invested in Google services this is a great tablet for you.

The Galaxy Note 10.1
The largest in Samsung’s line-up of Note devices is something that we all know and love by now, it’s the Note 10.1 and has made a name for itself as being the only tablet that does pen input well. Is that enough to keep a device like this alive in sales? Is there more to the Note 10.1 than the S-Pen? I’d like to think that there is, while the S-Pen and the accompanying apps pose a compelling choice for those that are creative or would like to get some work done on the go there is more to the device. While the quad-core processor is perhaps the last of an old breed of Cortex A9 processors it certainly does well and can still keep up with anything else out there. Essentially this is the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 with an S-Pen thrown in as such, the Note 10.1 might be a turn off for some of you but it’s very much a capable device and one that will do you proud no matter what it is you’re doing.

And The Winner Is…
The Nexus 10 is with a doubt a thing of beauty. Not only is the display stunning but it’s got an understated look that’s something we don’t see all that often. With a stunning 2560 x 1600 display and a fast processor this is one of the most powerful devices to run Android yet. Phone applications are going to look even worse than they already do but that doesn’t mean you should write the tablet off. With this being a Nexus device you can rest assured that you’ll be supported for some time to come and when it comes down to movies and TV shows, this is perhaps the best screen to watch them on. There’s no stylus here but if you were likely to not use the stylus then it’s no competition between these two. The S-Pen and its suite of apps does throw a spanner in the work and makes things a little more complicated but the Nexus 10 still powers through to become the better tablet.
