Android 4.1 Coming to the Motorola Razr HD XT925, Razr i, Razr M and Electrify M in Q1 2013

In sad news, but something we did expect, Motorola has changed the time table for updates to the Razr HD XT925, Razr i, Razr M and the Electrify M to get Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean. Like I said it’s not something we didn’t expect. Motorola is constantly changing their update plans, that and 2012 is just about over. All of these devices are currently still running Android 4.0 – Ice Cream Sandwich.

The Razr HD that Motorola is referring to is the Canadian version, because the Droid Razr HD, Maxx HD and Razr M on Verizon all got their updates already. So I can’t see the Razr HD and Razr M’s being to far off from getting updated. The Razr i is the Intel Atom-powered device that’s offered in Europe, Middle East and Africa. The Electrify M is available on US Cellular here in the US, and the Razr M is in Australia.

The Razr HD and Razr i have also been released in Latin America, and they will be getting Jelly Bean, but Motorola hasn’t stated when that’ll happen. We’d expect Q2 or later since those are most likely smaller markets for the manufacturer.

There’s also a rumor of an improved version of the Droid Razr M, dubbed the Droid Razr M HD, and it could be coming next year (possibly at CES) and would launch with Jelly Bean. Hopefully that’s Android 4.2 – Jelly Bean and not Android 4.1.

So anyways, it doesn’t look like there will be anymore Jelly Bean updates in 2012. But hopefully January will be full of Android 4.1 and 4.2 updates to many other devices. Does anyone own any of the devices named above? How upset are you with Motorola for taking so long to drop Jelly Beans onto your device? Let us know in the comments below.
