OUYA Dev Kits Shipping Early, Will Start Arriving Tomorrow

One of 2013’s most highly anticipated android devices is the OUYA Android gaming console. Receiving more than 8.5 million in funding, it’s no surprise that people are excited about this thing. And who should be more excited than the developers right now, as they have started to receive notifications for shipping of the Developer kits to their inbox’s this morning. Postings from individuals on the official OUYA forums and on twitter show these game lovers are soon receiving a console of their very own to start working with so they can get their apps and games working top-notch when the official consumer launch  hits in March or April of this year.

The dev kits are said to contain the console itself and two controllers, naturally, so they can get multiple user apps working correctly. This news most certainly is making a very lucky few extremely happy. It almost makes me wish I would have backed the kick-starter campaign just to get an early device, but I digress. I can wait till the consumer launch to get my hands on one. If you couldn’t get your hands on a console or just didn’t want to put out the dough for the hardware, you will be able to download the software development kit as an individual package starting tomorrow if things stay on schedule. Early backers were expected to start receiving devices before Jan.10th, but looks like a few people will have a belated Christmas gift. Who’s excited for these things to hit market? Is anyone already setting aside the cash to pick one up?
