Toshiba Set To Release New 10-Inch Excite Tablet – Available December 6

Giving consumers and analysts approximately two days to react to a product launch, Toshiba has announced the impending launch of the new Excite 10 SE, available on December 6 on the Toshiba Direct website and at select retailers. To be fair though, this release is a fairly small upgrade from the already available Excite 10 tablets.

The new tablet, intended to compete with the Nexus 10, features a quad-core Tegra 3 processor, a 10.1-inch screen, and Jelly Bean 4.1 out of the box. Here’s the full detail sheet, which is remarkably light in information considering how soon the device will be launching:

  • 0.4-Inches Thick
  • 22.6 Ounces
  • Textured Fusion Lattice Finish
  • 10.1-inch Diaganol AutoBrite HD Screen
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • NVidia Tegra 3 Super 4-Plus-1 Quad-Core Processor
  • HD Front Facing Camera
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi
  • MicroSD
  • MicroUSB
  • 3MP Rear Camera
  • 16GB Storage

That’s all we’ve got so far, though you might note the conspicuous lack of information about RAM or screen resolution, which isn’t exactly encouraging at this point. It seems like the Excite 10 SE is going to be little more than a bump in the Toshiba tablet road, at least according to their marketing strategy. Are you excited about this new 10-inch tablet?
