AH Show #22 – CES 2013 Blowout, Nexus 5 Rumors, Galaxy S IV and Much More!!

That’s right folks, we’re finally back in action and while its been a long time since we’ve done a show, we’re still as sharp as we ever were. Well, we think we are, at least. With the last couple of Mondays falling on New Year’s Eve and Christmas Eve we thought it best to leave the Android Headlines readership in peace and to hold off until the new year to bring the next scoop of hard-talking Android news and opinion. We planned to hold a show this time last week but we were hard at work bringing you the latest from CES and boy, what a show it turned out to be. It might have been a bust overall for smartphones and Android but we got the Xperia Z and the ZL, a new flagship from ZTE and Huawei’s massive Ascend Mate.

The first Android Headlines show of 2013 was a big one and this time around we were joined by Chris Yackulic, myself – Tom Dawson, Alexander Maxham, Christina Gardner and our resident mobile gamer, Justin Diaz! For the first show of the year, we had a lot to talk about and we made sure to get through some of the biggest stories of CES 2013, including Huawei’s Ascend D2 and their Ascend Mate, Sony’s Xperia Z and of course, Nvidia’s Project Shield. Justin and I had a lot to say on the whole buttons vs no buttons conflict and how they can really affect your game. Any gamers out there will want to tune in as we run through some possible pricing on the device as it’s the device’s cost that could very well make or break it. Nvidia need to be very careful to not price themselves out of the market or they might not get another way back in.

CES is not just about Android powered ovens and the odd Chinese smartphone but it’s about showing the industry what you’re made of. When it comes to mobile processors, there were no shortage of these at CES and Qualcomm, Samsung and Nvidia were all here in force to announce something special.

If you didn’t catch us the first time around, take a look below to catch the show:
