Huawei Ascend G510 Unveiled with Dual-Core CPU; Coming to Europe Soon

Huawei has been having a lot of rumored devices lately. Earlier this month at CES, Huawei officially unveiled the Ascend Mate and Ascend D2, which are two great devices. We also saw leaks of another Huawei device last week that would be a quad-core phone and have a very low price, in fact it was cheaper than this device. Hopefully it’s just that the exchange right kinda sucks right now. Now here’s the Ascend G510 full specs:

  • 4.5″ WVGA IPS Display
  • 512MB of RAM
  • 4GB internal storage; includes micro SD card slot
  • Dual-core 1.2GHz Mediatek MT6577 processor
  • Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean
  • 5MP rear-facing; 0.3MP front-facing camera
  • 1700mAh battery
  • 9.9mm thin or thick

So it’s not the best device out there, and we’re guessing this is supposed to be a budget/low-end device. It’s coming to the Czech Republic for CZK 7,500 which translates roughly to $392 with today’s exchange rates. That is still pretty pricey, especially for the specs on this phone. After all it’s more expensive than the sold out Nexus 4.

Huawei hasn’t said if this device will be heading to the US, but we highly doubt it. But Huawei did say that the device will be available in Europe this “Spring”. So any of you in Europe should be able to grab this one in the next couple of months from your favorite (or not so favorite) carriers.

So here we have a pretty low end device here from Huawei. Of course this isn’t the kind of specs that everyone wants, but if you need a new phone and don’t want to spend a lot of money (or wait months for a Nexus 4), then this Ascend G510 should be a good deal for you. And it should be able to run most of the apps in the Play Store, but the 512MB of RAM might make it hard to use some games on this phone.
