Sony Xperia ZL Gets Spotted with a Red Paint Job

Similar to the Xperia ZL’s big brother, the Xperia Z, it looks like it’ll also be available in three different colors when it launches later this quarter. Both devices are supposed to launch in late-February and March in different markets. When the Xperia ZL was announced and unveiled last week at Sony’s press conference at CES, they only showed off a white and black version of the device. Today, thanks to CNet Asia, there is now pictures of a red Xperia ZL. The picture below is the red Xperia ZL next to the purple Xperia Z (which is also coming in white and black colors).

Currently there is no word on what markets will be getting the red Xperia ZL. But we know that the Xperia ZL will not be coming to some European countries, which include the UK and Italy. We have no idea what the Xperia ZL is going to cost, but the Xperia Z has been priced at â‚¬600 – €650, so we should see the Xperia ZL for a bit cheaper. The specs between the two devices do vary a bit, so here’s the spec list of the Xperia ZL:

  • 5-inch 1080p Reality Display with Mobile BRAVIA 2 technology
  • Quad-core 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 pro processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 13MP Exmor R powered rear-facing camera; 2.2MP front-facing camera
  • 16GB internal storage; expandable via micro SD card
  • Android 4.1
  • Battery 2370mAh
  • 4G LTE connectivity
  • There’s no IP55 or IP57 compliance for dust and water resistance on the ZL
  • Android 4.1.2 at launch

The Xperia ZL in red, looks really nice. It almost makes you think it could be heading to Verizon. Since they often get red versions of devices for their employees. In fact we saw the red version of the HTC Droid DNA that was a Verizon employee exclusive a few months ago. It would be awesome to see this device and the Xperia Z head to carriers outside of AT&T.

Who wants to pick up this red Xperia ZL? I’m not going to lie, I’d definitely pick it up. Hit up the comments below and let us know.
