Since December, we’ve seen rumors of a Galaxy S3 refresh. Not only a new color, but also an LTE model. And on Tuesday, T-Mobile confirmed the refreshed Galaxy S3. Well its now available at T-Mobile stores and it’s going for $279 on contract. Remember T-Mobile hasn’t transitioned out of their classic plans yet and into the value plans. That’ll be another 3-4 months. This new Galaxy S3 from T-Mobile will work on T-Mobile’s new LTE network which is supposedly coming online in the next few weeks and rapidly growing throughout 2013 to reach 200 million people by the end of the year.
The Titanium Gray Galaxy S3 is only available in 16GB. T-Mobile will continue to have Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 32GB models. T-Mobile is also expecting to continue selling the 16GB Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 until they run out. So if you really want a Pebble Blue, you might want to hurry up and grab one as they are about to become a collector’s edition.
This new Galaxy S3 has all the same specs, Samsung has just slapped a fresh coat of paint on it, but to refresh everyone’s memory here are the specs for the Galaxy S3.
- 4.8-inch Super AMOLED HD display
- dual-core 1.5GHz processor (Snapdragon S4)
- 2GB of RAM
- 1.3MP front-facing camera; 8MP rear-facing camera
- 2100mAh battery
- Android 4.1.1 with Touchwiz on top
If you’re a heavy user, that 2100mAh battery may not last as long as you want. But the good news is that it’s removable! Which means extended batteries are possible. I currently have a 4400mAh battery on my T-Mobile Galaxy S3, and it lasts forever. Even playing Ingress.
So who’s going to sell their Pebble Blue Galaxy S3 for the Titanium Gray one? I still think Samsung should have been selling this color all along. The Titanium Gray looks great on the Note 2, and I’m sure it looks great on the Galaxy S3. Let us know in the comments below if you’re planning to go pick this one up from T-Mobile. It also uses the micro SIM card, so if you have a nano SIM or a full sized SIM card, you may need to have T-Mobile switch that out as well.
