We are still a couple of weeks away from Mobile World Congress which is being held later this month in Barcelona, Spain, and LG is making a big push to stay in your consciousness until the big event. There have been hints, leaks, and then even more leaks with regards to their followup to last years L series. Now we finally have confirmation of the Optimus L7II, L5II, and L3II directly from the manufacturer itself.
According to LG, the L Series II is an evolution of the successful L Series with “contemporary design aesthetics and innovations that improve on the original”. The original series was no joke, having sold over ten million units in the ten months since it’s announcement. There are four new design elements in the L series refresh including “Seamless Layout, Laser Cut Contour, Radiant Rear Design and Smart LED Lighting on the home button”.
In a statement Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said: “LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L Series II builds on this heritage of design innovation. By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimus L Series, its sequel is expected to continue the popularity of the L Series around the world.”
The first smartphone to hit the shelves will be the Optimus L7II, which will be available in Russia later this week. This is the higher end phone of the trio as it has the following specs:
- Qualcomm MSM8225 chipset
