Mobile World Congress is now underway. We’ve already been introduced to the Galaxy Note 8.0 and Samsung’s new HomeSync media streamer last night. This morning Huawei introduced us to the Ascend P2. Now Lenovo is showing off some brand new Android tablets in Barcelona this week. These include the 7-inch A1000, and A3000 and a 10-inch S6000. All of these run Android 4.1 – Jelly Bean but aren’t quite high-end, they are more mid-range, low-end tablets.
First up is the S6000, which has some okay looking specs, nothing that’ll blow you away:
- 10.1-inch IPS 1280×800 display, along wit a 178-degree viewing angle
- 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek 8389/8125 processor
- 8.6mm thick
- Weighs 560 grams
- 8 hours of battery life
- HSPA+ connectivity
Those aren’t the complete specs, but that’s all we have at this time for the S6000. So It’s not high-end but it’s not that bad of a tablet either. But for it to sell well, they’ll need to have the S6000 selling at about $200-250.
Next is the A1000 and A3000. The A3000 has about the same specs as the S6000, except it’s a 7-inch IPS display with a 1024×600 resolution. It does also have an optional HSPA+ radio on board. The A1000 is their other 7-inch tablet which has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor along with Dolby Digital Plus audio. Both the A1000 and A3000 have microSD card slots, but the A3000 can handle a 64GB microSD card, while the A1000 tops out at 32GB. The A1000 also has 16GB on board storage.
All three of these tablets should be available in Q2 with worldwide availability, and Lenovo has said these will be coming Stateside. So far there’s no pricing information which is normal at events like Mobile World Congress. We’ve got more press shots down below for you to check out. These are some pretty good looking tablets, especially the S6000, 10-inch tablet. Once we learn more about pricing we’ll be sure to pass it along. Update: The S6000, and A3000 are said to be running on Android 4.2, while the A1000 is running Android 4.1. We’ve gotta give Lenovo a pat on the back for being the first OEM to offer a device with Android 4.2.
