Official: HTC One With 4.7-inch 1080p Display and UltraPixel Camera

So if you’re living under a rock, you may not have known that HTC was holding events in London, and New York today (we also heard there’s something in Sydney as well). Just a few minutes ago, HTC officially unveiled the HTC One in New York, the London event is a bit behind. So what kind of specs do we have?

  • 4.7-inch 1080p display giving it a 468ppi
  • 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 32/64GB internal storage; No microSD card slot
  • Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and GLONASS
  • 2,300mAh battery
  • Android 4.1.2
  • Sense 5.0
  • IR Reciever allowing you to use the HTC One as a TV remote

In the HTC One, HTC is really touting it’s new camera which we’ll be going more in-depth with later on today. But they are using what they call ‘UltraPixel’. The HTC One is also going to be hitting a global launch, or as close to one as HTC has ever done. They’ve already been signed up with 185 carriers worldwide to sell the device. This includes AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile in the US. O2, Vodafone, Three and EE in the UK, and many more through out the world. The HTC One will also be arriving in an “LTE-Ready” state for those networks that don’t already have LTE ready.

Of course there’s a brand new version of Sense. We’ll also be covering that more in-depth later today. But in my opinion, it looks worse than Sense 4. It is more minimal, but I’m sure I speak for everyone when I say, more minimal should be no Sense at all. You’ve got Sense 5 along with Android 4.1.2, so you’ve got all the great features of Jelly Bean along with some of the not so great or preferred features of HTC Sense.

So there you have it, those are the raw specs of the HTC One. We’ve been told that the HTC One will be available starting in March, and will probably be $199 for the 32GB on a 2-year contract, and $299 for the 64GB version. That’ll probably come in the next few weeks. Is there anyone out there that is thinking of picking up the HTC One? Let us know in the comments below.
