Only Four Weeks Left To Take Advantage Of The HTC And Sony Free Game Promotion

If anyone needs some good pub these days it’s HTC. With Citigroup keeping their stock at a “sell” rating and today’s rumor that there is a component shortage for their upcoming flagship the M7, it seems like nothing can go right for the Taiwanese manufacturer. Whether they will be ready to answer the bell in 2013 is anyone’s guess, but they are starting the year off by showing some goodwill to their customers in the form of free Android games.

If you recall we reported two weeks ago that through a joint partnership with PlayStation mobile, Sony and HTC were about to kick off six weeks of free games with a new title coming every week. A new game has been announced the past two Wednesdays with “Samurai Beatdown” coming first followed by “Beats Slider” last week.

Well we are about to hit another Wednesday and this week’s offering is the popular game “Cubixx”. Launched in October 2012 Cubixx is a twenty level game where ” you have to use your laser to cut away the surfaces of a mysterious cube and free the energy within. Cutting longer lines and crossing multiple cube surfaces gives you bigger combos, but at far greater risk.”

Right now you might be asking yourself “what’s the catch?” Nothing is really for free these days and this is no different. In order to be able to download the free titles you must own an HTC device that is certified by Sony for use with their PlayStation Mobile app, which can be downloaded here if you don’t already have it.

It seems that to make the cut and gain access to the Sony store your HTC handset has to be running Android 4.1 and sense 4+. The current crop of HTC devices out there that fit this criteria are as follows: The One X, The One X+, The One V, The One S, The One SL, The One XL, and The EVO 4G LTE.

Even if you aren’t a gamer it’s worth checking out a free game so long as you already have one of these devices. Better get in on this soon though because the promotion ends when February does.
