Oppo Find 5 Is Now Available For International Consumers; Get One Before They Sell Out

The Oppo Find 5 may be the most famous Android smartphone nobody outside of China has ever seen. This phablet, which sold out in just a few hours in its home country, will finally be available starting today internationally via a special website set up for the occasion, oppostyle.com, which went live at 8 am PST.

If history is any indication you may want to head over to that site as soon as possible if you would like to get your hands on this device. Aside from the previously mentioned sellout in the Chinese market, one only has to look at how hot the Nexus 4 was at launch. Just like Google’s latest flagship smartphone, the Find 5 combines top of the line specs with a smaller than usual pricetag for an unlocked device. Oppo even has a disclaimer on the site about “limited quantities” being available, signaling that they are expecting to run out of devices to ship sooner rather than later.

Just take a quick look at these specs and you can see why everyone seems to want a piece of the Oppo Find 5:

  • 5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) – IPS Display with 441 ppi density
  • Qualcomm APQ8064 quad-core 1.5GHz – that’s quad-core Cortex A15
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 16GB or 32GB of Storage
  • 13MP rear-facing camera – capable of HDR capturing – capable of 120fps video recording, f/2.2 Aperture
  • 1.9MP front-facing camera
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi – including 5Ghz support
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • WiFi Direct
  • Bluetooth
  • NFC
  • DIRAC HD Sound Chip – to rival Beats Audio
  • 2500 mAh battery
  • Supports: UMTS/HSDPA/HSUPA/HSPA+/HSPA+42 (850, 1700, 1900, 2100MHz), GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz)

The site is live right now and not surprisingly it’s crashing and timing out just like the Play Store did last November with the Nexus 4. Currently the 16GB version is available for $499 with the 32GB variant listed as “coming soon”. Additionally they have the following accessories listed:

  • Navy Blue Find 5 Easy Cover $29
  • Oppo SmartTags (NFC) $19
  • Screen Protector $9
  • EU Charger Wall Adapter for USB $1

They are offering free shipping for orders over $100, so basically free shipping because why would anyone just order accessories.

The Oppo Find 5 matches up nicely with the other high end devices in it’s category like the Galaxy Note 2, The HTC One X+, and The LG Optimus G Pro. So if you want to get in on the action you best be hitting their website to try to grab one before they run out.
