HTC is readying their latest flagship for the US market – the HTC One. The devices has been spotted in the States at the FCC, ready to jump on the Sprint network, or so it seems since the phone comes with the Sprint LTE band (band 25). Two other variants have also been spotted at the FCC, one with quad-band LTE (2, 4, 5 and 17 bands) and one with dual-band (bands 4 and 17).The phone was not a pre-release version, which manufacturers usually send to the FCC to run tests on but, instead a production model which could mean that the stock for the phone could be ready for the market.
The phone will also be available on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon, however the latter will get the device later this year. If you are not from the US, you will still be able to get your hands on the device. The HTC One will be available in the UK on the major network providers (O2, EE, Vodafone, and 3). Canadians will also have the possibility to grab the phone from Rogers, Bell, Telus and Virgin Mobile. The phone will pretty much have a global release. In countries where 4G LTE deployment hasn’t started yet, the phone will still be sold with the 4G chip, and will be marketed as LTE-ready.
The specs of the smart phone are great, if not groundbreaking. The phone will have the following hardware specs:
- Snapdragon 600 quad-core processor at 1.7Ghz
- Adreno 320 GPU processor
- 2 GB of RAM
- 32/64 GB of internal memory (the phone will not have a microSD slot)
- 4.7-inch Super LCD 3, full HD 1980 x 1080 resolution, 468ppi
- 4 Ultrapixels, OIS, HDR video, ImageChip 2 rear camera (where’s what Ultrapixels technology means) and 2.1 MP, 1080p recording front camera
- Bluetooth 4
- Wi-Fi 802.11ac wireless adapter
- 2300mAh battery
- Android 4.1.2, Sense 5 and BlinkFeed (which is basically a home screen widget that displays your social media and news from over 1400 sources)
The phone will be sold at around the $600 marker (or around €460) and it will be officially released on the 15th of March. HTC managed to partner with over 180 carriers from around the world to push their phone to customers, so there shouldn’t be such a big wait for people to grab it.
