The latest rumors about Samsung Galaxy S IV are here. According to the Korean news site ddaily.co.kr, the upcoming Samsung flagship will continue to have a physical home button and will keep the S III’s chassis design, which Samsung considers a very streamline design, or as the manufacturer puts it “a human-centered minimalistic design” or “organic design”. The menu and the back capacitive buttons will be where they always were on Samsung’s Android devices which is on the left-side and right-side, respectively, of the menu button. That is kind of a letdown if you were hoping for a larger screen with soft buttons (I know I was hoping for that).
The report also mentions that the next Galaxy S device will not come with SPEN (the SDK that comes with the S-Pen technology) making the touchless gesture feature rumor more possible. Last week we reported on the rumor that has surfaced claiming that the Samsung Galaxy S IV will be featuring a touchless gesture mechanism (which you can read here), a technology similar to the Sony Xperia sola.
The news that the S IV will not come with the S-Pen isn’t a big shock. The S-Pen is the centerpiece of the whole Galaxy Note line of devices and bringing it to the Galaxy S would only dilute the features of the Note line.
The Galaxy S IV is one of the most rumored Android devices of 2013 and for good reason. Who knows what Samsung will put on the market this year? The rumored specs of the device as of now are as follows:
- Exynos 5 Octa (8-Core) CPU
- Mali-T678 (8-Core) GPU
- Huge 4.99 inch SuperAMOLED Full HD Resolution Display
- 2 GB of RAM
- 13 Megapixel Rear-facing camera with 1080p Full HD video capture at 30fps
- 2 Megapixel front-facing camera with 720p HD video capture
- Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean)
All the hype for this device is well-worth. Some of the more interesting rumors circulating the Internet, is the technology that is said to be behind the 4.99 inch display. S IV’s screen is rumored to be formed out of diamond-shaped pixels.
If you don’t like the bigger screen, don’t worry because the S IV mini is stated to be launched at the same time with the S IV (but, of course, will not have the same monster specs).
The Korean news site claims that Samsung will be having the battery, screen and other parts production ready by the end of February and has the goal to assemble the phones by the middle of March, followed by the presentation which is rumored to be sometime in April. The Galaxy S IV event is said to take place in the US at their new R&D headquarters in Silicon Valley.
