You may remember back on February 19th, when HTC announced the One, it was confirmed to be coming to AT&T, T-Mobile, and Sprint in March and April. Now according to AllThingsD, the HTC One might be heading to Verizon later this year. Of course, there is a “might” in there which means it could happen or it could not happen. But we know how Verizon is with their testing phase. Takes them forever, and is the reason why Verizon is always the last to put it out a device that’s on other carriers. Like the Galaxy Note 2, launched on Verizon a few months after the rest of their competitors launched it.
So far, Verizon and HTC have not made a comment or any plans for an announcement. So I strongly urge you all to take this with a grain of salt, until we get even more concrete evidence regarding this. If HTC can get the One onto big red, it’ll be good things for HTC. Since the HTC One will be on all four of the major carriers, hopefully that’ll help HTC make some money back and gain a big chunk of market share back.
For those that may have forgotten, here are the specs of the HTC One:
- 4.7-inch 1080p display giving it a 468ppi
- 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 32/64GB internal storage; No microSD card slot
- Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, GPS and GLONASS
- 2,300mAh battery
- Android 4.1.2
- Sense 5.0
- IR Reciever allowing you to use the HTC One as a TV remote
So with HTC bringing the HTC One to at least 3 of the major carriers, all they’ll need to do is market the heck out of the One and it should do pretty well. How many of you are excited for the HTC One? Despite their rumored delays in launching the device, we should still see it hitting carriers in the next few weeks.
