I don’t know who uses the web app for Gmail honestly, for if you do use Gmail, you probably have the native app installed and you use that to access your account and also get push notifications. But if you are not into installing apps, Google has you covered. The web app just got an update, to bring it to the latest look that Google’s services have adopted.
The new web app brings a better Google Calendar integration and Search experience when searching between your e-mails among with other aesthetic components I’ll go into in a moment. Firstly, this is what the Gmail team said when they released the new mobile page.

I don’t know if it bothers you, but it definitely bothers me. Why would the mobile web app of a service offered by the company that created Android have design features borrowed from it’s competition? I know it’s not the case here, but it reminds me of lazy interface app ports from iOS to Android.
The buttons that bring you to the previous menu is drawn in the same position and form as the iOS app and also some dialog menus that appear are using the same design, like here, when it asks me if I want to save the message to drafts, discard it, or return to it.
The Gmail offline app is an extension for Chrome that is available in the Chrome Web Store in the link above. This too has clearly borrowed aesthetic features from their Gmail iPad app. The Gmail Offline is an extension that you can use to access your Gmail account in a similar manner a e-mail client would permit, allowing you to view your emails regardless if you are connected to the Internet or not.
