It’s that time of the year again, when the air is filled with buzz and excitement. Google I/O 2013 is around the corner and the invitation to go to the conference is extended to developers and the press. But for those that can’t make it, the chance to participate online through the video streams is available as usual. The Google I/O will take place from the 15th to the 17th of May in the Moscone Center in San Francisco. If you are planning to go (or you are just curious like me to know this sort of details), the normal ticket of admission for the conference is $900 (or a little over €690 for us over the pond) and $300 (or €230) for academic attendees interesting in going. To benefit from this price cut you must be a student, a professor or staff of an high-school or a higher education establishment.

The registration for the event will start on the 13th of March at 7am PDT (GMT -7) and this blog entry gives you some pointers you should consider when applying for a ticket.

For those of us that will not be going to the conference, the events will be available via the live stream that can be viewed at this site. You can also find the schedule there, which will enable you to know when to tune in to watch what you are looking for. You can also be part of it by going to one of the I/O Extended events that will run along-side the main conference, the details of which will be announced soon. As of now they stated that this extended events will be organized by Google offices, Google Developers Groups and student ambassadors world-wide.

The Google I/O will start as usual with the keynote speech in which the latest of Google’s technologies will come out in the light. Some of the things expected to be announced at the conference are the Motorola X-Phone and the latest version of Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie, to name a few. The Google Glass project will surely have a special place in this conference just for it. Also at the event, the latest statistics in regards of the Android ecosystem are also expected to surface.
