Samsung Confirms Exynos 5 Octa Coming with LTE

Today, Samsung Exynos official Twitter account confirmed that the Exynos 5 Octa supports LTE now with all 20 bands. So in other words, the Exynos 5 Octa now supports all the bands that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 supports. So why didn’t they throw the Exynos 5 Octa in the Galaxy S4 for the LTE markets? Well they can barely get the Exynos 5 Octa manufactured for the 30% of the markets that are getting the Galaxy S4. They are using the Galaxy S4 with the Snapdragon 600 processor in most countries right now.

With that being said, we should be seeing the Exynos 5 Octa in the Galaxy Note 3 coming to the US later this year. Now that’s not to say the Snapdragon 600 processor is a bad processor, but we all want to be able to say “my phone has an 8-core processor!” right? It’s called bragging rights.

So here’s a big question, would you rather Samsung announce the Galaxy S4 in April or May if it meant having the Exynos 5 Octa in all markets? I know I would. I still think the Galaxy S4 was announced a bit early since last year the Galaxy S3 wasn’t announced until May last year. It would have made a lot of people happier with Samsung. Not that the Galaxy S4 is a bad device with the Snapdragon 600, but the Exynos 5 Octa would have been even better.

Well at least we’ll see an Exynos 5 Octa device later this year in the US and in other places around the world that are getting the Snapdragon 600 variant of the Galaxy S4. Benchmarks for both the Exynos 5 Octa and Snapdragon 600 variants have blown all the competition away. Do you think they released the Galaxy S4 a bit to early?
