AH Best Android Apps Weekly: April 11th, 2013

Tweetings for Twitter

If you’re a heavy Twitter user or even use it every once in a while, Tweetings is a great app to check out. I’ve been using it off and on for the past 6 months or so. I keep switching between Tweetings, Falcon Pro and Carbon. Tweetings has quite a few features that you’re certainly going to love. It is tablet optimized, one of the few Twitter apps that is. It supports Twitlonger, Tweetmarker support, Tweetings cloud timeline sync support as well. There are a ton of other features that would take a long time to go over. So head on over to the Play Store and check it out.

Whatsapp

This has been a pretty popular app this week, with rumors of Google trying to buy it. Whatsapp is a great text messaging alternative, although it does have one major drawback which is that it only works on phones. It allows you to send and receive messages over Wi-Fi or your data connection. It also just went holo not to long ago, so it looks relatively nice compared to Whatsapp prior to version 2.9.4750.

Buzz Launcher Beta

Buzz Launcher gives you a whole new look at launchers. It doesn’t give you a ton of complicated settings. As they say “Buzz Launcher is a new concept launcher which enables you to apply others’ homescreens to your phone. With Buzz launcher you can download homescreens best suited for your taste and preferences via Homepack Buzz service. This is definitely a new and different launcher and you’ll want to check it out.

Real Racing 3

Here’s a great game from Electronic Arts, who was just named as the worst US company for the second year in a row. Real Racing 3 is a nice looking game with great looking graphics, especially if you’re on a 720p or 1080p display. It uses real cars, real tracks, real people and gives you more choices than ever before. This is your premier racing experience. But it takes up quite a bit of space, around 1.7GB. So you’ll want to do some house cleaning before installing.

Nova Launcher

With Facebook just having announced their launcher and it coming out tomorrow. We thought we’d share our favorite launcher, which is Nova launcher. It basically looks like the stock launcher with a few tweaks that you’re sure going to love. I use it on my Nexus 4 and love it. With all the gestures, animations, scrolling speed settings, and everything else in this launcher it’s hard to go back to using your default launcher.

Tumblr

This week, Tumblr got a nice update. It’s also now holo-fied along with Whatsapp and Twitter. The Tumblr app is also much faster now which means it’s easier than ever to update your Tumblr blogs and manage all of them from your phone or tablet. You can also view your messages, find new people to follow and seamlessly follow new blogs as well as discover new ones.
