If you’re an Android user, you’re more than likely a Gmail user as well. So most if not all of us use the Gmail app for Android. While it has come a long way from it’s Donut and earlier days, it’s still not quite there and still in need of a revamp. Especially with Google pushing it’s cards UI which was introduced with Google Now and is now part of a variety of Google apps including Google Keep, the new Google Play Store and a few others.
A Google+ user, +Paul Burke, went into Photoshop and put together some concept images of what he thinks the next major version of Gmail for Android would look like. We’d like to say that this was all Paul Burke’s work and that Google had nothing to do with it, but maybe Google will take this idea and run with it.
Here you’ve got the slide out on the right which shows you which account your using (it looks like you can easily switch accounts there too) along with your inbox, Important, Sent Mail, Drafts, All Mail and your labels. It looks really nice and clean. It’s also interesting how he has made the different parts of your inbox collapsible like the Important and Unread and Everything else as shown in the image below.

I don’t know about the rest of you, but seeing what can be done with the Cards UI is pretty cool. especially when it’s done with apps that we use all day everyday.
