On Google’s earnings call this afternoon, Google’s CEO Larry Page, talked up Motorola’s upcoming devices. This comes just a few days after Eric Schmidt had been talking up Motorola’s upcoming devices at Dive into Mobile. Right now, we are all getting very excited about Motorola’s upcoming devices. Between the X Phone rumors and the words from Schmidt and Motorola’s Design team, these new products should be big sellers for Motorola Mobility.
Today, Larry Page said:
“In today’s multiscreen world, the opportunities are endless,”
Which is true. We’ve seen flexible displays, phones with dual displays, and I’m sure we’ll see more very soon. Larry Page also talked about Battery life and durability, which are key areas of innovation.
“Think about your device. Battery life is a challenge for most people. You shouldn’t need to carry around a charger to make it through the day. If your kid spills their drink on your tablet, the screen shouldn’t die. And when you drop your phone, it shouldn’t shatter.
“Having just seen Motorola’s upcoming products myself, I’m real excited about the potential there. In just under a year, they have accomplished a lot, and have impressive velocity and execution.”
It looks like Page was very careful to not drop any hints of Motorola devices making their presence known at Google I/O next month in San Francisco. But we are still getting very excited about Motorola’s upcoming devices. Especially if Motorola has innovated the battery life on their devices. Not that the Droid Razr Maxx and Droid Razr Maxx HD had battery life, but could you imagine even better battery life than what those two devices have?
We’ll be keeping tabs on Motorola and Google’s earnings call and see if anything else newsworthy slips. We were hoping that someone would “accidentally” confirm a device. Like Sprint’s CEO, Dan Hesse, did last year at Sprint’s Q2 Earnings call.
