New HTC 606w Leaks, Appears to be a Mid-Range Phone with BoomSound

The HTC One was announced back in February and has been pretty popular, and is already launched in some regions and will be launching in North America this week and next week. Now we’re seeing a leak of another HTC device. This one is the 606w. It’s black and blue, a nice color palette if you ask me. You’ll also notice the front-facing speakers, and the dual capacitive buttons on the front on either side of the HTC logo. The 606w looks quite a bit like the Chinese One SU.

As far as the specs go for this HTC device, we’re looking at Android 4.1.2 – Jelly Bean, 4.5-inch 960×540 resolution display, quad-core 1.2GHz processor, 8MP camera on the back – so no Ultrapixel this time, along with a 1.6MP front-facing camera. There’s also a WCDMA radio and a microSD card slot for expanding the storage. There’s actually some pretty good specs here for it to be a “mid-range” device. Not to long ago that would have been a high-end device, minus the display. It should also have a relatively good camera, that people won’t mind taking a chance on since it’s 8MP and not 4 ultrapixels like in the HTC One.

This is notably the HTC M4 that we saw leaked late last year along with the HTC M7 a.k.a. HTC One. It looks significantly different from the HTC M4 that was leaked. We’ll be sure to keep an eye out for this one and bring you news once it’s released. Hopefully we’ll see it make it’s way to the US. At least for pre-paid carriers or T-Mobile’s UNcarrier plans.

The HTC 606w is an interesting looking device. Primarily because the camera looks to be off-center in the image, which is something we don’t see to often. Also the blue and black color scheme the Taiwanese manufacturer is using, I quite like. Some of you may not agree, but that’s your opinion. How many of you would be interested in this device to replace your HTC One S or another mid-range device?
