The Galaxy S IV is going to be a popular smartphone, at least if last year’s Galaxy S III is anything to go by. Of course, the key to last year’s success was the fact that Samsung had their flagship smartphone hit all of the major carriers as the same device, the same is sure to happen this year and we’re just waiting on release dates to find out when the Galaxy S IV is going to be available to purchase.
Thanks to a leaked document from Staples, passed to PhoneArena by an anonymous tipster, we have some dates that might be close to the official launches on T-Mobile, AT&T and Verizon.
It looks like AT&T are going to be first out of the gate with the S IV, with Verizon taking as long as the end of May to get their S IV out there. It doesn’t seem like a bad launch for the Galaxy S IV, with three carriers launching so close together, it’s just strange to see Verizon take quite a bit longer than the other two. Sprint will surely be somewhere in the middle of Verizon and T-Mobile. Verizon apparently have the most strict testing out of the lot so, that might be the reason for the delay.
Pricing is going to be a big factor for the Galaxy S IV, with everyone getting in on the fun, just like last time. T-Mobile is presumably going to be asking for a $99 down payment for 16GB and then $20 a month from thereafter, with AT&T having already announced pricing stating that the 16GB model will be $199 and the 32GB will be $249 both on a two-year contract.
It looks like the Galaxy S IV is certainly going to be launching sooner than last year’s S III which can only mean bad news for the HTC One, with delays hitting the company hard the last thing they want is Samsung’s flagship to swoop down on their exclusive period that they were hoping for by launching early. Which carrier are you signing up with – or sticking with – to get the Galaxy S IV? Or are you going with something different?
