Last week we heard from Android Police that the Android team over at Google was working on Android 4.3 – Jelly Bean. Today, Android Authorityposted a screenshot of their server logs that show Android 4.3. They’ve seen version of 4.3 including Android 4.3.1 and 4.3.3. It’s also been shown running on the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, and Nexus 10. Which are all the current Nexus devices that are being updated and supported.
It’s important that we remind you that user agent profiles can very easily be faked. But we also checked our server logs and we’ve seen Android 4.3, and in addition we’ve seen a device running Android 4.3 in addition to a few other Android OS versions which we haven’t seen before. Which includes Android 4.0.6 and Android 4.1.4, which we’ll probably never see.
Android Authority has also seen builds of JWR25C, JWR24B, and JWR29/JWR29B pinging their site, which is more than likely Jelly Bean and not Key Lime Pie. They also found out that these devices had been pinging their site starting April 29th and came from a few different locations. This included Google’s HQ, Mountain View, Ca, a few other California locations, as well as India, and London, UK. You’ll notice in Android Authority’s image above that they were pinged by a few other unknown devices. One being the Huawei U8819, which is a similar model number to the Huawei Ascend, and it’s running Android 4.3.3, while the other is ADR8995 4G which is known as the Pantech Breakout and running Android 4.3.1. Those both are not flagships or 2013 devices, which makes this even more interesting.
This doesn’t mean it’s confirmed, but we’re seeing more evidence of Android 4.3. As we said it could have been faked, but where Android 4.3 has pinged a few sites and not just one, I think it’s safe to say it’s legit. But we’ll know for sure in about two weeks when Google announces the next version of Android at Google I/O 2013.
