Asus is pretty well known for making some of the better Android tablets to hit the shelves since the market exploded a couple of years ago. Their hybrid “Transformer” series has long been a fan favorite for those of us out there who enjoy the higher end devices and don’t mind spending a few extra dollars to get top of the line specifications.
One line of products from the Taiwanese manufacturer’s stable that has so far eluded consumers here in the United States however is their Asus PadFone devices. For those of you who may be unaware, the PadFone series is another group of hybrids but rather than the keyboard dock that accompanies the Transformer, the PadFone is a combination smartphone and tablet.
While we have heard rumors of a possible release of a PadFone variant for the U.S. market, they have all only amounted to just that, rumors. However according to a recent post on the Asus Google Plus page regarding a hot pink version of their latest PadFone Infinity, we could be seeing one stateside before long.
As you can see in this exchange with a person in the comments section of the post, the Asus rep explains that the version they are hyping does not come with U.S. frequencies and as such will not be marketed here, BUT he leaves the door open a crack as he advises potential American customers to wait and see what happens at the Computex Expo, which is happening next month. Computex you may remember is the big trade show in Taipei, Taiwan where companies proudly show off their latest and greatest devices.
For those of you who may need a refresher here are the stats on the Asus PadFone Infinity:
