As with a lot of things, we’ve been hearing about a subscription music service from Google and now, they’ve taken the wraps off of the whole thing. Meet Google’s “All Access” service, that puts millions of tracks at your fingertips for just $9.99 a month. And it’s launching today, along with a 30-day free trial.
What with this being Google, there’s obviously a unique take on the whole thing and that’s what Google are calling “Radio Without Rules”. When you start playing a track from the Google Music library – whether from your own library or not – a radio station of songs similar to what you’re listening to, from a number of different artists, will play in succession. There are no rules here, as you can simply swipe a track out of the queue or re-order the songs whenever you like. Everything is gesture based and very fast.
You can add music to your own library when you’re a subscribing member of All Access. Let’s say you have one album from an artist, but not any others, you can add these to your collection, and when you search your library, these albums will appear as well.
The service is $9.99 a month and launches today in the United States. For those that become a paying member before June, will only pay $7.99 a month from then on. There’s no word on launches in other countries but, we assume that this will launch in other territories relatively soon.
We’re big music listeners here at Android Headlines and this is really awesome, we’re just hoping that it launches in other countries like Canada and the U.K. as soon as possible. Would you pay $9.99 a month for a service like this?
