Within the past 6 months, LG has really been stepping up and trying to compete with Samsung. Well, at least someone has the guts to do it. LG Launched the Optimus G last fall on AT&T and Sprint. That device is said to be one of the more underrated devices out there. They also partnered with Google for the Nexus 4 which is based off of the Optimus G. Which is a great device. They’ve also just recently launched the Optimus G Pro here in the US and is currently available on AT&T.
LG also announced their Optimus F-series of phones at Mobile World Congress back in February. The Optimus F3 did not make the trip to Barcelona in February, but was announced the next month for Australia. The Optimus F3 is a 4-inch WVGA device powered by a dual-core processor and is running Android 4.1.2 – Jelly Bean. It’s also packing a rather heft 2,460mAh battery. You might be thinking that is a rather large battery for a 4-inch device. Well actually it is. I reviewed the LG Lucid 2 a few weeks ago, it had a 2400mAh battery with a 4-inch display. Needless to say, the battery lasted at least 24 hours on every cycle. I really hope their flagships like the Optimus G Pro perform the same way as far as battery life is concerned.
PhoneArena first broke the LG Optimus F3 earlier today and that’s heading over to Sprint in the next few weeks. They are also stating that it will be priced aggressively on contract. So what does that mean? Well more than likely it’ll be $50 on contract or possibly even free. From the looks of things it looks like Sprint and LG are really going to try and push this device. Which sounds like a good plan to me. As soon as we can we’ll find the entire spec list for the Sprint Optimus F3. But that probably won’t be until an official announcement is made.
