A few weeks ago, Motorola’s CEO Dennis Woodside was at D11 and he stated that they would be refreshing all their product lines between now and October. Along with introducing the Moto X (pronounced Moto Cross). The Motorola XT1055 appears to be headed to US Cellular. We’ve already seen the XFON pass through the FCC for Verizon, AT&T and Sprint. The specs of the device are still similar to the Verizon, AT&T and Sprint versions. Which include a Snapdragon S4 Pro dual-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz, along with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and 10MP and 2MP camera on the back and front respectively. The Display is said to be 720p, but we don’t know what size it is just yet. It’s also running Android 4.2.2.
Sounds like a mid-range device right? Like the Droid Razr M 2? That’s exactly what we are thinking. We think that this is a completely different device from the Moto X which is their supposed “hero” device. But we’ll have to wait and see now won’t we.
So far there’s nothing about a price for the XFON or release date. But I’d have to say that it’ll probably be announced within the coming weeks as it appears most of the carriers variants have passed through the FCC already. But we still haven’t seen the T-Mobile variant. Which doesn’t surprise me since T-Mobile has almost never had a Motorola device on their network before.
How many of you are anxiously awaiting to see what Motorola is going to unveil this year? I know I am. It’s been far to long since they announced a device. They last released the Droid Razr line last September. So it’s about time to release a new device, right? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
