New Google Play Layout Live in Books Section

Yesterday we saw some additional views of the new web layout for Google Play that should be rolling out any time now. It now appears that the Books section of Google Play has now been updated, as you can see in the screenshot above. It matches the layout that Google showed us at their I/O keynote a few weeks ago. Which means it should be rolling out to the rest of Google Play very shortly. But the term “shortly” can probably be used very loosely here.

You can check out the new version of Google Play in the books section by going to http://play.google.com/books or you can just tap on the “My Books” button at the top of the main Play Store page. It’s just that simple. You should see the new layout, it appears to be available to everyone now, at least in the US. But I doubt it would not be available to those outside the US at this point. Once you leave the Google Play Books section, you’ll be directed back to the regular old Play Store layout, unfortunately.

But with one section live on Google Play, we’re sure that Chris Yerga and his team are working on rolling out the entire design refresh very soon. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on when it’ll be available. Personally, I can’t wait to check it out for myself, as I really like the new design that Google has been using on all of their products as of late, although I’m still not to satisfied with the new Google+ layout. Am I alone in that?

How many of you can see the new layout in the Google Play Books section on the Play Store? Let us know in the comments down below.
