Yesterday, some images about Sprint’s new My Way plans surfaced which actually kind of confused me. The reason why it confused me was it looks a lot like T-Mobile’s Simple Choice plans. Except Sprint’s plans are still the same price as they are currently. Today, Engadget got some additional promotional materials about the new My Way plans, which might be announced formally tomorrow, if the above image is right.
Customers currently on Sprint can go ahead and swap out their plans with the new ones without extending their contract. But new lines will require a 2-year contract. Those of you that have employer discounts, Sprint will discount each line instead of the primary rate plan. Which means you could get even more off your plan each month. There’s also the My All-In plan which bundles unlimited talk, text and data along with 5GB of mobile hotspot is not eligible for any discount, unfortunately.
In the image above, Sprint compares various plans with their competitors. And one thing I had to say is that the single line smartphone has some wrong information about T-Mobile. If you check out T-Mobile’s website, unlimited talk, text and data is $70 per month and not $90. Sprint is desperately trying to compete with T-Mobile’s new Simple Choice plans, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see AT&T and Verizon switch over to better cheaper plans soon, if T-Mobile continues to grow at the rate that they are. Although I’d expect Verizon to be the last carrier to switch over.
The plans from Sprint look a bit better than what they have right now. Along with getting a discount on each line instead of just on the primary line is definitely something that people are going to love. But that’s only if you get an employer discount. How many of our Sprint customers are excited about these new plans?
