LG Holding Event in New York; Optimus G2 Likely the Guest of Honor

Try as they might, LG can’t fool us into thinking that the Optimus G2 isn’t coming, and soon. We’ve heard a lot about the device, from the much rumored Snapdragon 800 that’s supposedly at the heart of the device to crazy figures such as 3GB of RAM. We’re no closer to knowing exactly what LG have in store for their next flagship, and the follow-up to last year’s Optimus G but, we might know a lot more this time next month. LG are sending invites out to the press, hinting that it’d be “great 2 have you”. Subtle, LG, subtle.

The event is taking place in NYC, August 7th and by the end of it we should know everything there is to know about the much talked about Optimus G2. Hopefully, at the event they will have all the details surrounding availability not just throughout the US but also Globally. One thing that seems to be clear about the G2 is that LG are looking to perform better on a global scale when launching the device, unlike the Optimus G. There are no prizes for guessing why they’re more concerned with a global launch than before.

So far, the device is apparently packing a Full HD display, the very same Snapdragon 800 that’s made waves in the Xperia Z ultra and high-end entertainment features like recording in Ultra HD, which is four times as dense as 1080p, it’ll be able to stream 1080p over Miracast and more. So, LG are going for the whole bundle when it comes to digital entertainment and the specs sound as if they can certainly deliver.

While we still have a month to go, we wouldn’t be surprised if there were more leaks to come and of course, on the day of the event, we’ll have all the latest news as we get it Android Headlines. In the mean time, you can get a look at LG’s cute teaser below and let us know if you’re looking forward to the G2 in the comments below.
