On Wednesday, two new Motorola phones have passed through the FCC. The XT1030 and the XT1080. Both of these devices appear to be working on LTE bands 4 and 13, which means they will more than likely be ending up on Verizon soon. Perhaps the Droid Ultra M and the Droid Ultra Maxx?
You probably remember the XT1060 passing through the FCC weeks ago for Verizon. The XT1060 appears to be the X FON we’ve heard tons and tons about as of late. It’s also supposedly coming with a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Pro processor and 2GB of RAM. But again, that’s still just a rumor, and not confirmed.
We’ve heard about the new Ultra line from Motorola in the past few weeks. Which is said to replace the current Droid Razr M and the Droid Razr Maxx HD. Both the devices that passed through the FCC sport NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and 802.11ac radios. So nothing to exciting yet. But we are seeing a few more Motorola devices heading through the FCC, which is usually a good sign. Hopefully we’ll see both devices on shelves soon.
Knowing Verizon, the Droid Ultra line may not launch for a few more months. Then again, Verizon puts all their marketing power behind the Droid line. So we might see it even sooner. We’re hoping that the Droid line does have some flagship specs. But at this point, nothing is confirmed so we have no idea. We’re hoping for a Snapdragon 600 or possibly 800 in the Droid Ultra Maxx, along with 2GB of RAM, a 1080p display and a huge battery. But we already expect a huge battery in the “maxx” devices like the Droid Razr Maxx and the Droid Razr Maxx HD, which Motorola announced last year.
So far 2013, has been a pretty slow year for Verizon. Hopefully Motorola can help kick start 2013 for big red and get some nice devices out for the country’s number one carrier. I’d certainly love to get my hands on a new Droid from Verizon.
