Verizon Answers to AT&T's Claims About Being the "Most Reliable 4G LTE Network"

zonLast week, many of us started noticing that AT&T is considering themselves to have the most reliable 4G LTE network. Now wasn’t that something Verizon had been saying for years? Well yes, it actually is. BGR spoke with a Verizon Spokesperson about this claim and the spokesperson basically said “AT&T can make up whatever claim they want” he also said “let consumers make the ultimate decision.” The Company has also taken out an advertisement in Monday’s edition of The Wall Street Journal, which you can see that ad down below.

CNET also spotted that Verizon acknowledged “others have tried to claim reliability” and adding that reliability is “not a hollow claim. Or a slogan. Or a fancy ad campaign.” Verizon has also cited their track record for being the most reliable and recent investments have made its network improve even more along with third-party data from RootMetrics that praised Verizon’s Call, text and data performance.

You had to know that Verizon would come back swinging at AT&T. But it’s nice to see these two at each others’ throats now. Although that could be good or bad for the consumers. I’m hoping it’ll help drive more competition between the two, since they have the best cell networks in the US. Maybe we’ll see lower prices? Oh wait, I forgot who I was talking about. Right now it’s sitting at some friendly competition, but I’m hoping it’ll turn into more than that. I’m also hoping customers can benefit as well.

Verizon has been the “most reliable” network for as long as I can remember. AT&T’s network used to be pretty bad, but when they got the exclusive on the iPhone for about 3 years, that drove in a ton of money to AT&T which they spent wisely in making their network better. For me, AT&T actually gives me better signal and faster speeds than Verizon does. But that’s a story for another day.
