We’ve been hearing quite a lot about Motorola’s upcoming Droid phones for Verizon and the latest leak might excite those of you looking for a smartphone that can last longer than you can. The Droid RAZR MAXX HD was a popular smartphone among those that wanted to spend as little time looking for an outlet as possible. Not just that but, the RAZR MAXX HD didn’t grow too much in size from the RAZR HD either.
Now, we’ve seen a leak from Android Central that hints at incredible battery life in the new Droid MAXX. A storyboard for a 30-second TV Spot, titled “Island” has leaked out and has given us the line “48 hours of worry-free battery life, the new DROID MAXX” which is surely more than enough for everyone, no?
While Motorola have produced “MAXX” editions in the past, before they became a “Google Company”, it wouldn’t surprise us if Google’s CEO, Larry Page, had something to do with this push in battery life. The problem of having to charge our smartphones every day, or even every few hours, is one tha'[s very much at the forefront of Google’s mind. Even if the Droid MAXX isn’t going to be a Google phone, we’re just happy to see a smartphone that’ll be able to last longer than any given work day.
The Droid MAXX is going to be a pretty decent smartphone from Verizon and Moto, regardless of battery life, even if they’re not going to be revolutionary smartphones they’ll be a great addition to Verizon’s fairly lacking line-up at this point. 48 hours of battery life is of course going to come with some caveats and we’re willing to bet that’d be through the use of some kind of software tweak, like Sony’s STAMINA mode in their Xperia phones.
It seems that the new Droid line is creeping up on us faster than we first thought, but with so much set to happen this fall, can another Droid line from Motorola compete?
