Motorola Droid Maxx Information:
Motorola rolled out a new line of DROID devices, that are exclusively on the Verizon network – the DROID Ultra, DROID Maxx and DROID Mini. The Motorola DROID Ultra and Maxx, and even the Moto X are very similar – the main difference is the battery size and times between charges – 3500mAh will give you a full day and a half of heavy usage…but it comes at a price of $100 more than the Moto X and the Ultra. The Maxx has a 5-inch AMOLED HD display with 1280 x 720p resolution – 294 PPI (pixels-per-inch). It uses the Motorola X8, which is a dual-core Snapdragon S4 clocked at 1.7GHz and an Adreno 320 GPU. It has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and no microSD card slot for expansion.
The main camera is a 10MP with auto focus and LED Flash and takes decent pictures, but nothing exceptional. The front-facing camera (FFC) is 2MP for video chatting and selfies. It has dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 LE + EDR, aGPS, GLONASS, eCompass, NFC and Miracast. The DROID Maxx measures 137.5 x 71.2 x 8.5mm and weighs in at 167 grams and has a Kevlar backing which offers a good grip and feel.

Motorola Droid Maxx Editor Rating:
The Motorola DROID Maxx is basically a DROID Ultra with an extra-large battery – only a nice Kevlar backing with no camera hump due to the larger 3500mAh battery. I am not saying that is a bad thing – it has Active Display, Touchless Control and the best battery life on any device…easily a day and one-half. The display (720p) and camera could be better, but that is a given with a Motorola device. It also runs almost a pure Android with only a few Apps pre-installed, so there is a lot less bloatware gumming up the works and it also makes it easier to receive upgrades. It runs smooth and fast, just like the Moto X and Droid Ultra.
